1. Who We Are
SGS (So Good Solar) (“SGS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an independent solar advisory and installation coordination company based in Auckland, New Zealand.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information obtained through sogoodsolar.com (the “Website”). It also explains your rights in relation to that information.
We operate the Website directly. We do not permit third parties to collect or use your personal information except as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information submitted through the contact form
When you submit an inquiry through the Website, we collect the information you provide. This may include:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- Your phone number, if provided;
- Your suburb or city; and
- The contents of your message.
An email address is required so that we can respond to your inquiry. All other fields are optional unless otherwise indicated.
2.2 Address and roof data submitted through the Solar Calculator
Our Solar Calculator uses Google Solar and Google Maps services to estimate a property’s solar potential.
When you enter an address, the address is transmitted through our server to Google’s application programming interfaces (APIs). This allows us to retrieve information such as roof geometry, estimated sunlight exposure, and projected solar output.
Google receives the address query required to provide these results. We receive and display the resulting data. Solar Calculator sessions are not linked to your identity unless you separately provide identifying information, such as by submitting the contact form.
2.3 Technical and usage information
Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may maintain short-term server logs containing technical information about visits to the Website. This information may include:
- Your approximate location;
- Your browser and device type;
- The pages or resources requested;
- Your Internet Protocol (IP) address; and
- The date and time of each request.
We use this information to maintain Website security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot technical issues, and understand Website traffic and performance.
Further information about analytics and cookies is provided in section 4.
